Day returning from cruise

We see the boat unloads at 8am, we%26#39;re assuming this will take us a couple hours. Our flight isn%26#39;t until 3:30pm at Fort Laud airport. I hate the idea of just going to the airport then and fighting the crowds. We thought if we waited until noon, maybe the crowds would die down some. Thoughts?

Also, are there great places to eat inside Delta Terminal or should we eat before going to airport?

Day returning from cruise

From memory Delta flies out of T2 and there is no great place to eat there. In my experience the only terminal that has decent food is T1 and there is a Chilis in the departure lounge, which is large and quite pleasant. I would definitely eat before I got to the airport if I were you. Most if not all airlines (again from memory Delta is one of these) only allow you to check your luggage 2 hours before take off, so if you get to the airport early you will be sitting on the floor with the rest of the cruise goers and other passengers who have arrived early, babysitting your suitcases.

I%26#39;m afraid I concur with Sue- and eating before airport arrival will be a problem because of luggage and no car I%26#39;m afraid-there are no luggage lockers or restaurants uinside the Port or at the airport since 9/11- you may have to camp out in T-2 and settle for pizza , premade salads and chicken sandwiches.

Sue, I never get to T-1- is Chili%26#39;s before the TSA checkpoint?

It is after you have gone through all the security stuff.

Can you go from one terminal to the other without going through security again or do you have to go thru security with each terminal

You would have to go through security, I%26#39;m not sure whether or not you would be allowed through security unless you had a boarding pass for a flight leaving from that particular terminal.

Here is a link that shows all the restaurants at FLL by terminal. It also shows which ones are before and after security.

That%26#39;s why I was asking, because you cannot get through TSA without a boarding pass for a flight in that terminal- so you would be limited to your own terminal or restaurants in an another terminal outside the checkpoint. The four terminals are arranged in a square around a parking garage/rental car center- and each of the four are fairly small- there is a free shuttle bus that runs between them that circles baggage claim. While Chili%26#39;s may be marginally better than the choices in T-2, I am not at all sure I would make the trek with luggage in tow.

It%26#39;s a shame our airports can%26#39;t have enough places in them for us to relax before our trip. They want you there early but then give you the basics.

A Kiosk for coffee???? That%26#39;s a joke.

To us, that%26#39;s like a wind up plane for air travel

You are going to really freak out when I tell you that I believe all the coffee kiosks are Dunkin Doughnuts!! I know how coffee is worshipped in Seattle!!

i am tagging on this question because have the same problem but wondering if there is a place to leave luggage at the cruise terminal before go to airport cuz we have most of day. thought we could wander around a bit if we dont%26#39; have need to go to airport right away but not possible if can%26#39;t leave luggage somewerhe.

any suggestions?
