I am posting after a very depressing day. I have been robbed !
Was saving to go to Disney in June and had just withdrawn 拢1000 to change into dollars so I didnt spend it, and had it stolen today when my house was robbed. Very sad, as we were all so excited to go on this trip and I had been saving for over 2yrs.
So I need cheering up and my kids are devistated,oh well not alot to be done now but start saving again,
So Disney is on hold for another year or so, Oh dear, I guess I will just have to get my disney fix on here now,
Depressed Got to wait another year now !!!
What a bummer :(
Depressed Got to wait another year now !!!
I, am very sorry that this has happened to you. I do not mean to be insensitive to your situation, but how did you withdraw this money? was it from a bank teller? ATM? Just want to know, because I think someone was watching you if you lost that amount of money in a robbery. I don';t think you wre randomly picked.
Oh no :( so sorry
Sorry to hear that Cazketjoe, there are some truly horrible people out there im afraid. And you were so excited with your planning and everything! Is there no way the cash could be covered on your house insurance?
Cant you claim on your inurance s you can prove you withdrew it im covered for 拢3000 cash on my home policy.
I think you may be right, as none of my jewellery was taken and my mum passed away last year and I have a couple of precious sentimental items that were not touched. Only the money went missing, so I think you may be right. So annoyed for being so stupid and leaving it in the house.
It took me 6 months to save that, as a single mum of soon to be 4 children money is tight, but I have learnt my lesson.
SO hope everyone else learns from my mistake, and no one else withdraws holiday money and leaves it in the house.
I will never do this again!
in fact I will not get spending money until day of departure next time, and keep it locked to me.
I also had the same thought as bssd
Did anyone know you planned to get the money out today to exchange? Just too much of a coincidence...
Did you have the money in plain view or did you hide it? Was the hope ransacked completely?
OMG Nemmis, I never thought about that, I reported it to the police and have a incident number, I have no idea if household insurance covers it, I will look into that, you may have just saved the day, but I dont want to get my hopes up as I am sure they will say something like, cash in the house tut tut you deserve it for being so stupid!
I will let you all know tomorrow how it goes, I will give them a ring.
Having been burgled twice i know where your comming from ,im sure the police mentioned this but to me they stated that in these types of cases look close to home .
And be firm with the insurance company the money was only there for a short time as you were changing it .
Yes the police think it is someone I know and have had in the house and knew that is where I kept my money and knew I had got it out of the bank. Which just makes it worse as It means, it is someone I have trusted and possibly one of my sons friends, I am too trusting! Well never again. Lesson learnt.
