I understand that there is no main lobby bar in the hotel. I wanted to know if there are cocktail servers that serve drinks around the pool area? Are there any nearby stores to buy ';drinks'; for the room? Thanks!
Hilton Ft. Lauderdale - Drink Service
I cannot recall any details about the Hilton%26#39;s bar service as I haven%26#39;t been inside in ages, but I can tell you with certainty that there is no store at all anywhere near it- the Hilton and the Sheraton across Griffin Rd from it are both built along a ';greenway'; at the south end of the Airport and the entire area is just sort of a nuture preserve- in the other direction is the entrance ramp to I-95- threre uis nowhere you can or should try to walk.
Hilton Ft. Lauderdale - Drink Service
I should have clarified -- the newer Hilton Ft. Lauderdale BEACH RESORT. Sorry!
oops- sorry! I have to get used to having a Hilton on the Beach. I once again don%26#39;t know about the cocktail service there- but typicaly such places have it poolside in paper cups- but can%26#39;t say for certain they do- there are a very limited number of small convenience stores in the beach area that sell bottled alcohol- limited selection at inflated prices. Hopefully you won%26#39;t have to resort to that- and hopefully someone who has stayed there can fill you in!
Two fairly recent reviews mention drinks served poolside but that they are expensive..I haven%26#39;t been in the newish CVS drugs in Beachplace , but the others town have wine ( and maybe beer I don%26#39;t recall- I%26#39;m a wino) at decent prices- perhaps they do as well..
There are servers around the pool and there is an indoor lounge/restaurant right near the pool. If you%26#39;re looking for beer/wine, then I am almost sure CVS at Beach Place carries that. Anything more and you%26#39;d likely have to go elsewhere.
Last time I was sitting outside McSorleys enjoying happy hour I remember seeing some sort of advertisement in the window that they were selling alcohol to go or words to that effect. I have only just remembered and I didn%26#39;t take much notice at the time, so I%26#39;ve no idea of what alcohol it refered to. Also there are a couple of convenience stores close to McSorleys which certainly sell beer and I think wine.
I stayed at the Hilton Beach Resort first week in March and sat by the pool for a couple of hours. NOBODY offered me service. I went inside to the restaurant and asked if anyone worked at the pool and then they scrambled. Not great service!
