Thanks

Summer Bay vs Westgate vs Orange Lake...where to stay?

Summer Bay really isn%26#39;t all that close. There are several Westgate properties to pick from so it%26#39;s hard to tell without more info. Between Summer Bay and Orange Lake I think I%26#39;d pick Orange Lake.

Okay, well then let%26#39;s eliminate Summer Bay. Please help, which Westgate Resort would be the best one for us?

Thanks so much.

I%26#39;m really not all that familiar with the Westgate properties but I%26#39;m sure someone here is so I%26#39;ll give you a bump! I thind some are closer to WDW, some the I Drive area.

Thanks....anybody with info??

We recently stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas, right off US 192. Great location, as respects to the Disney Parks. The resort itself is pretty large w/ a bunch of pools, activity center %26amp; deli on premises. Also, 192 has all your middle-of-the-road restaurants, Publix grocery stores, and cheezy gift shops.

Personally, I don%26#39;t have one bad thing to say about the place, and this was our second stay. Some others here seemed to have some issues, though, but I came across nothing which would cause me to rethink my choice, next time around.

BTW, we traded our Caribbean timeshare week thru Interval international. The actual price of the Westgate (2 bedroom) unit, to RENT, was $1,000 higher than what our maintance fee was for the week we traded, so it was a pretty good deal!!

We have stayed at Westgate Lakes, which is near Universal Studios and I-Drive. Nice property, but be prepared for the hardcore sales pitch to get you to buy a timeshare, they are relentless!

I have stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas and they seem to have plenty of activities/pools for the kids.

However, as someon else as posted, the high pressure sales pitch is enough to not go back again. I was not allowed to leave the building until I signed their survey and I have two gentleman staying over me the entire time.

After that, I was on the phone to the Attorney General and the BBB.

One of the salesman actually said ';oh, you Jersey girls, what are we to do with you?'; and ';there are only 1 out of 500 people who don%26#39;t want to talk to me';. Ugh. Aggravating to say the least!!!

Both times we stayed at Westgate Villas, I told them we%26#39;d be attending their sales presentation on Thursday (of the week we were staying) and just never showed up!!!!

They never marked down what day you made the ';appointment'; for, just wrote it on a slip of paper, which they gave to me.

NEVER had them try to contact me after the initial resort check-in!!!!

the timeshare pitch really turns me away from Westgate then. we just want a relaxing holiday with our family. thanks so much for the honest info.

stayed at orange lakes, no complaints at all..appartments are excellent, and they have a very good water park, plus a few very good golf courses..as for time share sales, we allready go through R.C.I., so said not interested and they did not bother us..as for disney, its 5 minutes going in a back road..have you thought about vistana resort, again very good and 5 mins fron downtown disney and very good restaurant area.
