I%26#39;m staying in Disney with my family (5 of us) and would like to go to Universal a couple of times. We are not renting a car, can any one give me any info on the cheapest and best ways to go between the 2 parks? Thanks
transportation from Disney to Universal
cheapest way would be to get disney transport to transportation center and pick up the lynx 50 bus which will take you to seaworld. Then hop on the I ride up international drive to universal and walk from the wet n wild stop!
Or it might be easier to get a taxi!
transportation from Disney to Universal
The cheapest way would not involve riding I-Ride at all because so doing involves paying two bus fares each, where only one is necessary.
The easiest way, by bus, to get **all the way** to Universal%26#39;s ';parking garage'; (bus station) is to
- take a WDW bus to DownTown Disney Marketplace
- exit, cross the street and take LYNX service 111 (runs once per hour at xx40) to the Florida Mall.
- transfer there to LYNX 37 (every 30 minutes Mon-Fri, 60 Sat-Sun) which goes right to Universal.
You pay one fare ($2) when riding LYNX. When you pay, ask for a ';transfer'; (ticket) which is free. Use this on the next bus to complete your journey.
There is another route using LYNX buses 50, 8 and 37 (in that order), but whilst it%26#39;s more direct, it takes a similar amount of time, so I%26#39;d stick with the 111 - 37 method above.
Connections work best on Mon-Fri; at weekends you have a longer wait at the Mall stop.
Minimise waiting time and be sure of getting the last one back by printing off the schedules at
http://www.golynx.com/?fuse=cstm%26amp;app=route
The **easiest** and **quickest** (and most expensive) way is by taxi.
Thanks for the info on buses but not sure after reading these posts that I would attempt that as I am traveling with children. Has anyone used any type of car service that they felt was a good deal or where u paid by the trip not per person
we%26#39;ve used Mears as only recently started to rent a car. We%26#39;ve always found them to be good. Not sure if they charge by the car or person but they have a fare estimator on their website which might help
mearstransportation.com/TaxiFareEstimator.asp
Taxis only charge per hire, not per person. www.mearstransportation.com has a fare estimator - I just did Magic Kingdom - Universal with the result:
Trip Distance: 18.0 miles; Estimated Fare: $41.25 (each way)
Your result will differ depending on which resort you are staying at.
