Best Western Lakeside.

Hi, Is this hotel suitable for a non driver, I know they do shuttles to Disney, does anyone know how frequently they run? Are there restaurants and shops within walking distance? Also does the Lynx bus go out that way and if so where does it go to? Thanks for any info Jean

Best Western Lakeside.

Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a few shops, though mainly of the %26#39;Bargain/ Souvenier%26#39; variety.

As for buses and shuttles, someone else will need to answer.

This may help with some things though

Stayed here twice and quite liked it when it was the Sheraton Lakeside ,there is a bus/coach that leaves for the parks but IMO you really need a car as your well away from ID and Universal ,yes there are gift shops and resturants nearby ,well fast food .

We stayed here at Christmas, but we did have a car, and because of that found it very close to Disney.

It is in a very central position and lots of places to eat nearby.

There is daily transportation to the parks, but not sure if the times are that frequent.

All disney parks have shuttles between each other, so could go for earliest and take a shuttle if it is not the park you want to use.

We had quite a good stay, our original room was quite horrible, but we asked to move and the new room was great!

Hi jean

I stayed here in 2006, I felt it was a bit out of the way. They were building sidewalks along the 192 back then but the closest walking distance ';restaurants'; were Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King %26amp; Wendy%26#39;s - all fast food! Oh and the hotel also has its own Pizza Hut Express. The rest were quite a lot further down the road. Not sure how much its changed in the last few years but I%26#39;ve since been to I-Drive and found that more central and pedestrian-friendly.

Hi, Thank you everyone for all your replies, will check out all the links and go from there, thanks again for all your help. Jean

The restaurants are not all fast food, there is Giordanos (v. nice Italian even if I spell it badly), Outback, Key W Cools (one of the best steak houses) + a number of family restaurants (Dennys, Shoneys, Ihop, Perkins, Black Angus, Golden Corral) etc.. There is also a McDonalds and a Subway, which is what I class as fast food.

There is also a 7-Eleven and a Publix (though the Publix is a bit of a walk).

I reckon the other posters were too busy driving to have a good look round.

Phossy I class all of those as fast food lol:)none are on the square .

Nemmis, you%26#39;ve lost me - what square?

Key Cools is next door to McDonalds. Giodanios, Outback and Subway are on the larger of the shopping areas (is that the square?)

Hi Phossy, Thanks for all you help, those are the sort of places we would eat at, can%26#39;t all afford gourmet nosh like some other posters can we! Thanks again for the info Jean
