Burmise Pythons in Florida

If worrying about the recession wasnt enough i now find that i have to worry about Pythons when I arrive in Florida in October, does anyone know if they have been spotted in Kissimmee yet.

This task force of patrollers and responders is fighting an invasion of Burmese pythons into the Florida Keys, first discovered in April 2007 on Friday the 13th and now expanding with orrying results in March 2009.

The Burmese pythons have swum more than 6 miles to the Florida Keys from Florida%26#39;s Everglades National Park — infested with a population of more than 10,000 snakes. The problem started more than 10 years ago because of a few released pets.

“Early-detection, rapid-response is the best way to stop them,” says Alison Higgins, The Nature Conservancy’s Florida Keys conservation manager.

“We already know they are eating some of the many endangered and rare species we have here in the Keys.”These Pythons can grow to 30 feet in length.

Snake in the Road!

Keys workers who spend much of their day driving, such as FedEx and U.S. Postal Service drivers, have joined the Eyes %26amp; Ears Team to call in sightings.

Nemmis, you have ben watching Fox news again haven%26#39;t you?

Not if you keep your door closed it won%26#39;t lol. I can see you beating a silly old python anyday, it is your grandkids I%26#39;d be worried about.

Remember, don%26#39;t go into the long grass.............

I heard today that one of those pythons swallowed a deer. Oh, while I%26#39;m posting, let me say I%26#39;m so sorry if America offended the U.K. with the gift exchange between Obama and the P.M. I think Britain is great and would visit it tomorrow, if I had the money.

I saw that on Fox, but no one is talking about it here so don%26#39;t worry.

But what do i do if im sunbathing at Typhoon Lagoon and one grabs me do i poke it in the eyes or call for help.

Poke it in the eye and call for help?

I think you are safe in the wave pool, but watch out in the lazy river.
