Coral Reef and Hollywood & Vine

Well we have all our reservations set up and am starting to worry about these 2. Coral Reef just looks so neat and my boys love the ocean and fish. But I keep hearing bad reviews and also on dis some people had pictures and the meals look like snacks. They would probably be ok for me but they looked tiny for my husband. Anyone else have opinions? And then the reason I picked H%26amp;V is it will be our first day after flying in so I wanted something quick. I figured my kids will be excited and buffet will be quick and we wanted the fantasmic. Also I am vegetarian and my kids who eat some meat love their veggies more than most meats. I just keep seeing really bad reviews about both. I don%26#39;t expect gourmet after all this vacation is all about the kids but I do want to enjoy the meals and get full. What are others thoughts. The other places I have booked are

Ohana breakfast

Crystal Palace dinner

Tuskers breakfast

Boma dinner

Chef Mickeys dinner

and then I would also like to go to TRex. Do I need to make reservations here? I thought that one we would just wait until we are there and see when we make it to downtown. I picked mostly buffets because I figured they would be quicker and my kids would have more to choose from. Also my 9 year old is a big 9 year old and likes to eat, so this way he will get more than chicken nuggets off the menu.

Coral Reefs food quantity was fine. We just did not care for it, we also did not order any fish. We ordered steak and chicken. We are not big seafood eaters.

We ate at Hollywood and Vine years ago for lunch I believe the fantasmic dinner package is supposed to be better quality then the lunch. It was alright for a buffet but I will say the buffet at Chef Mickeys and 1900 park fare were better.

My 9 year old was a bit bored by the kids menu so we shared with her. Luckily I am not a dessert person so I would taste my dessert but share it with her.

Yea I do not mind sharing my dessert. I do not need a whole dessert. That is one thing I normally like about buffets with kids they go pick out what they like. Oh and I also do not eat fish. On one menu I seen Coral Reef had tofu, but then on another one I didn%26#39;t see it so hope they have something vegetarian.

If you have any Special Diet Requests ( even Veggie ) have them make a note of it on your reservation and then remind them when you get there that you%26#39;d like to speak to the Chef if there isn%26#39;t a Veggie Option listed on the Menu. We do this all the time at all the Table Service Restaurants :)

On the day we visited a man had stopped in to be sure his child would be able to eat there. He wanted to be sure they could make the pizza without cheese. They said yes. I was impressed that a cook came out to talk to the man.

Do I just call the same number that I made dining reservations to tell them I am vegetarian? I eat out and never really have a problem. Most restaurants have something I like or I can order a salad or pasta without the chicken. Most buffets are easy. What about TRex: will we be ok just waiting to see when we want to eat here?

Hi I am not a fan of coral reef but it was the portion sizes, limited choices and atmosphere that I was not keen on, we went for lunch but it was very quite, 1 other couple only in the whole time. Our kids are also good eaters and enjoy good food. They mostly ordered off the adults menus, except in the seafood restaurants where the childrens choices where quite good - they like fish a lot. One fast food place they did enjoy was the sci fi diner. They also liked the setting for the rainforest cafe and planet holywood the food in them was just ok. We did crysal palce the 1st time we went but we are not buffet people so the character part was the best bit, glad we went but wouldn%26#39;t go back. This year we are going to chef mickeys (free offer) and I imagine the food will be similar to crystal place. We like the menu at Bomas.

I think buffets are a great idea when you have kids. We loved the Crystal Palace..went there twice when we were in Orlando in January. I thought the food at the Coral Reef was excellent, but the portions were way too small. We haven%26#39;t tried the Hollywood %26amp; Vine yet, but are going to do so on our next trip in September.

OKgal, yes, just call the same number you did for your reservation, should have been 407 -939 -3463 or you can call the Food and Beverages Managers at Epcot with any other concerns

407 - 560 - 7292

Hi OKGal - Don%26#39;t worry about Coral Reef and Hollywood %26amp; Vine.

Hollywood %26amp; Vine is a generous buffet with foods even the pickiest eater will be able to find food. The Fantasmic package is great also because from what I understand, Fantasmic is only being show on a limited basis and this is a show not to be missed.

We all love the Coral Reef. We have not had a problem in the past and if your meal is not right, send it back. The tank is spectacular and the kids love to identify the fish on the paper they give you. HAve a great trip!

I%26#39;m a lacto-ovo vegetarian and I can%26#39;t recommend Boma more highly. You will NOT be disappointed by Boma, I promise.

We%26#39;ve also eaten at the Crystal Palace lunch buffet and there%26#39;s no way you could go away hungry, whether vegetarian or omnivore. While their food isn%26#39;t as exotic as Boma%26#39;s, it is diverse and tasty, and there is something for everyone (many things for everyone).

The only breakfast buffet I%26#39;ve had was at AK but I imagine they%26#39;re all pretty similar and you%26#39;ll be able to eat plenty non-meat offerings (see: http://allears.net/menu/men-brak.htm).

The only disappointing ';real meal'; we%26#39;ve ever had at WDW was at Epcot%26#39;s Akershus Banquet Hall. It wasn%26#39;t HORRIBLE, it WASN%26#39;T great. But we knew that before we booked (we%26#39;ve got two little girls and wanted the only princess experience available at Epcot).

Definitely call the reservations line to let them know you%26#39;re a vegetarian ahead of arrival, but I think you%26#39;ll find something everywhere.
