westshore family friendly ?

Hi,

I have posted a few questions now on Tampa ~ have booked hotel @ westhore (Homewood) for 7 nights April.

Would have preferred to go for the beach area @ Clearwater but ;

a) can%26#39;t get a 2 bedroom suite (teen son %26amp; daughter) and

b) the hotel rooms are very expensive.

Anyone got any tips on, say, private apartment/condo rental sites that are good to use ?

Have been to orlando many times but as I do not know the Tampa area would not wish to %26#39;take a risk%26#39; on an area that may be run-down etc ??

as always, help appreciated.

By the way, is the Westshore area ok for tourists or is it mainly business users ??

I think that people use www.vrbo.com for condo rentals. I have never used that site.

Westshore area is mostly business users I would guess, but should be fine for tourists as a base. I would recommend a rental car, though, as public transportation is not the greatest. There are two great malls in the Westshore area - Westshore Plaza and International Plaza. Both have good restaurants, as well as the usual food court.
