hey guys, when do the locals dive into the water at local beaches? IM thinking late april/early May. is it still chilly then?
when is it ';beachy';It%26#39;s already starting to warm up, so you might see locals in the water already! But we could still get a cold front I suppose. But late April/early May for sure!
Even if ';locals'; aren%26#39;t in the water, it doesn%26#39;t mean you can%26#39;t go. Most Floridians (including myself) don%26#39;t go until it%26#39;s HOT! And I usually stick to pools over the Gulf :)
when is it ';beachy';Forgot to add, you%26#39;ll see many sunbathers even if they aren%26#39;t in the Gulf.
For me it%26#39;s usually about the first of June, maybe a couple of weeks earlier for the pool.
well...I%26#39;ve learned the hard way that I will not go on vacation unless the weather is beachy....I came back from fort myers beach in february and it was in the 60%26#39;s, and i was thinking that i%26#39;d be swimming in the ocean, NOT SO! so most likely, I%26#39;ll be taking my vacations from April - sept. oct..during beachy weather...I was hawaii last april, thinking oh yeah it%26#39;ll be hotter than hell there and we%26#39;ll be swimming...yeah we did for like 1 day and it was cold...
Usually Memorial Day weekend for us! Like Kris, I like it hot!
I usually dive in around June...water is nice and warm by them. Was just out in the Gulf a couple of days ago and got up to my knees and that was it...too cold! I think our water temperature right now is around 67 so it has a way to go to be beachy!
