What are your suggestions to do for a 9 year old boy on his visit to Orlando? Slainte.
Birth ';day'; to do's
Make use of the free entry to Disney is surely a must.
Birth ';day'; to do's
If you%26#39;re already planning on buying a multi-day ticket you also have the option of either a $75 gift card or a set of special fastpasses for your party.
All of this (including the free entry) has to be redeemed at Guest Services of the park you%26#39;ll be visiting on his birthday. (ie The fastpasses will only be good for that park on that day, the free entrance won%26#39;t include park-hopping.) I%26#39;m not sure if the gift card must be used at the same park or not. I%26#39;m planning on getting one and finding out!
You can also pick up a free birthday pin. If you%26#39;re dining with Disney have it noted on your reservation and tell the hostess at check-in. Your son might get a surprise and a free dessert.

Jen... I do know the gift card can%26#39;t be used on food or drink, just merchandise
For my sons birthday last November. I started the day off with going to Animal kingdom because this is his favorite park, we had character breakfast at Tusker house at 8:00. Then went thru the park. Went back to hotel at 4-5, played in the pool for awhile, I had balloons sent to the room while we were swimming. We then went back to the room, and he was so surprised, Mickey even left a autographed photo for him. We then got ready to eat at Chief Mickey%26#39;s for dinner. We arrived, ate, then they brought out a Mickey cake that I had pre paid for, along with a couple of gifts I purchased. Mickey brought the presents out while our server brought the cake out. This was the most joy of the day of course, but the memories are so great, the look on my sons face ';all day'; was just priceless.
If you do not want to do all of this, I am sure he would enjoy a day at his favorite park, as well as getting the free birthday package, and then followed with a birthday surprise meal, be it a Character meal or just one of his favorite places to eat.
Sorry to hijack the thread but do you have to take proof of the birthday like your passport? My daughter will be 9 when we are there and I%26#39;d like to take advantage of this offer. We have bought entry tickets as part of a package.
Thanks
Yes, you need proof of birthdate. We are going for my son%26#39;s birthday soon and will be bringing his passport along with us.
and also a birth certificate is what the terms read
Here are the rules and options

Yes, we provided my son%26#39;s birth certificate. I believe a prior trip report mentioned that Disney was insistent (as makes sense I suppose) on the birth certificate or passport. I would think a copy would be ok if nervous about bringing into the park, but you may want to check.
How about trying to snag a ride in front of the monorail with the driver? My son was lucky enough to have a chance (we boarded at the TTC) and it made his birthday extra special. We had no wait because it was off hours - 4 in the afternoon. I second everything above - the character meal is a great idea. We did Ohana%26#39;s for breakfast to start his b-day and then Chef Mickeys to end the day (dinner). It was awesome!
I believe that you can opt for a special fastpass for certain rides instead of free admission or the gift card. It works for 4 rides I think (anyone else know which rides?)...we did not get it because the crowds were light, but depending on when you are going it may be worth its weight in gold to choose that option. Then your son can go on some of the best rides as many times as he wants with no wait at all (even better than the fastpass since you can board over and over). That is a real special treat! Just a thought....
The birthday fast pass is good 1 time on 4 rides.
