Destin - good family vacation?

The husband and I would like to take our 1 year old on a trip before the new baby gets here in September. Plus we have a really busy spring so we are looking for some relaxation during the summer. Would Destin be a good location for this? What about places to stay? We would be coming the middle to end of July. Thanks for any input!

Destin - good family vacation?

I have only been here once and that was before our baby was born (I was about 5-6 months pregnant). However, I think it is a great family vacation place. We actually stayed in the Okaloosa Island area (we had been told it was quieter than Destin) and fell in love with the place. We stayed on a 1 bedroom condo at Pelican Isle - place had a magnificent view!

I don%26#39;t think you could find a better family vacation spot! I took my son when he was not quite 7 months old and it was fantastic.

The Destin area is a fabulous place for a family vacation. There is a place to stay for different budgets, tons of dining options, enterainment options and a great outlet mall! By the end of July things are slowing down a bit-many folks can%26#39;t take the heat. Being from Louisiana, ya%26#39;ll will be fine with it.

There are tons of places to stay on or near the beach. My friends stayed at a condo in Ft Walton called Destin West, they have a lagoon pool area that%26#39;s really kiddo friendly.

We stayed at the Sandestin resort for many years. Now we stay east of Destin in Seagrove Beach as it%26#39;s less crowded than Destin.
