Hi, we are looking for rentals to accommodate 3 adults (my husband %26amp; I, plus grandma) and 3 children. Ideally, it%26#39;d be great to find a three bedroom to maintain everyone%26#39;s privacy, but we%26#39;d consider a 2 bedroom. The kids are 6 and 4 years old. I%26#39;ve been looking on vrbo and found a nice looking 3 br condo at Lighthouse Point Condos, but I can%26#39; find any info about the complex, or even if it%26#39;s a good area to stay with kids. Also was looking at Beach Road Villas, but they don%26#39;t have a pool, plus they back up to a canal, a concern for me with my little ones. I like the idea of staying in a cottage, but they all seem quite small. We%26#39;d love a pool, but if the condo/townhouse/cottage was beachsidem that wouldn%26#39;t be an issue.
Budget is a concern. We%26#39;re coming in July, so the weather worries me a bit too. (I understand it rains every afternoon). I%26#39;d appreciate any info or suggestions.

Lighthouse is a good size and value, however it is my understanding that this is a two week min stay.
Sanibel arms is a budget minded place to stay.
Loggerhead Cay in the summer in the gulf view rooms can be reasonable. HEre is an updated one I have bookmarked. You can find possibly cheaper here is an expample. It has a large pool.

The weather in July off the beach can be very hot so bike ride early and use the beach early as well before the afternoon storms which can roll in. They don%26#39;t last long normaly and cool things down.
Be aware that Sanibel does have more bugs in the summer. No-see-ums can be annoying so be prepared.

Try Beachview Cottages. I know of at least one cottage there that has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with a sleeper sofa in the living room. All their cottages have a screened in lanai. It has a pool, very close beach access, laundry area and bikes free to use. Enjoy your time on Sanibel. Don%26#39;t forget a trip report.
Loggerhead Cay is always a good choice. Great location, good price but all units are 2 bedrooms. Coquina Beach has unit with a loft giving you sleeping arrangements that do not involve the living room at a good rate. Pointe Santo has 3 bedroom units that are very spacious although more expensive. Villa Sanibel has 2 bedrooms with a den...located on west gulf drive.
Other 3 bedrooms are at Pine Cove, Shorewood, Cyprina. Coquina Beach has nice beach front units, 2 bedroom with a loft.
I apologize I missed the three bedroom request as to not use the sleeper sofa.
Sanddollar is a nice complex that we stayed at several years ago. http://www.sanibelcondos.com/ We stayed in this 3 bedroom K, Q %26amp; 2 twins unit which was very nice. Very nice master suite area.
The only negative remark I%26#39;d say is depending on how high the vegetation is in front of the complex you may not see the ocean fully.
Nice pool area with restrooms. Shell cleaning station and a hope to clean your feet as you leave the beach. Nice beach area They had a nice ground level storage closet with all the goodies inside. Elevator to condo.
They were very easy to deal with and in looking at their 2009 calendar they have 2 weeks left open in July.
