Food in the Keys from today's Washington Post

This is great, like someting you can read right here, things like...

';The sign on the squatty shack at William and Caroline streets reads ';B.O.%26#39;s Fish Wagon,'; but the lean-to could easily be confused with debris from the last hurricane. This isn%26#39;t the only ramshackle eatery in Key West that offers good grub, a pleasant degree of slouch and local louts for company. With no intent to dis Key West%26#39;s famed culinary icons, sometimes pursuing alternatives to white tablecloths and $39 bone-in rib-eyes can be fun.';

My sentiments, exactly, Ollie.

Mine, too pjk. And probably everyone else%26#39;s who love Key West like we do.

Nice article. This makes me:

1. Think about KWT. He used to post about Hogfish B%26amp;G all the time. It just plain sucks that he%26#39;s gone.

2. Hungry because it makes me think about grouper and burgers and conch fritters at B.O.%26#39;s. And black beans. And limeade.

3. Really look forward to checking in on 5/3 and walking straigt up to the bight for a beer and something deep fried!

57...

This is like my little tradition for the first thing in Key West...

I go to the Half-Shell Raw Bar for one Key West Sunset Ale just to sip, then a second one with 1/2 lb of shrimp. Then I know I%26#39;m back.

Great article, we hit 2 out of 3 our last visit.

First time for Hog Fish and it was wonderful! Our waitress suggested we try the hogfish sandwich ';killer'; style and, altho it was tasty, we will order it plain next time. When ever you have a great piece of fish like that, there is no need to smother it with cheese, onion and mushrooms.

I have to thank the people on TA for my addiction to B.O.%26#39;s. Fishwagon. We have walked past this place a gazillion times and never entered until I read about it here. Now, it%26#39;s always on the must-do list.

There are people who don%26#39;t care for B.O.%26#39;s - either the shabbiness of the place or some don%26#39;t like the food or think it is over-priced. OK. But! even so, it%26#39;s fun to go there early one evening and just have a bottle of beer and sit at the rail and watch people as they walk by. They look at the place, look at the cat which is usually sitting on the rail, look at the cooking area, shake their heads and pass by. Too bad for them.

Thanks for posting that, reminds me of my favorites. Now I know what a hog fish looks like!

I am determined to get to Hogsih for the first time ever on this upcoming trip...it sounds too good to miss any longer.

Also, have been to B.O.%26#39;s and plan on going back again next weekend at some point, this time for a burger and a beer (or three) because I keep hearing they have terrific ones. The little shack and its personality - and the location - are both awesome.

I thought B.O.s was fabulous and was doubly excited to remember how highly TA folks recommended it. That%26#39;s how I really knew this TA forum is trustworthy and right up my alley.

I love BOs. Sure, the prices are a lot higher then they use to be, but what prices have gone down? The food is fresh and still a great value. I agree that the burgers are great if you have had your fill of fish.
