Would someone please give me a couple options for an early lunch between the airport and Sanibel? This would be for me and two little kids.
Something quick and easy - step above mcdonalds, a decent diner type for grilled cheese sandwiches.
I can%26#39;t remember the name of that place on the right hand side, before the flyover - I think it is silver? Is this place any good?
restaurant between RSW and Sanibel Island.
You are talking about a Denny%26#39;s...
A little further up there is a Sonic, which is fun and you can stay in the car.
Just outside of the airport there is a mall with an Ale House, Red Robin, Outback, McDonald%26#39;s, Subway and a few other places.
On the other side of the fly over, there is an Applebees, and also a Perkins.
restaurant between RSW and Sanibel Island.
At Summerlin and San Carlos (turn left at Pine Ridge to reach the shopping center) there are the Sunflower and a Perkins. Also in that shopping center is a good pizza place. We like Sunflower - varied menu, good portions %26amp; good prices.
the silver place you are thinking of is Denny%26#39;s. I find their service lacking, but maybe if you are there at lunch it will be better.
Hi Sunny, My kids like the Cracker Barrel right outside the airport. Also have you ever stopped at Citrus Harvest? Green roof right across the railroad tracks between Airport and Sanibel? I don%26#39;t recommend it for lunch BUT they have a little playground (not sure how young your kids are). The best thing is the fresh squeezed orange juice sold by the gallons. They also have strawberry/orange fresh squeezed. Cranberry /orange fresh squeezed. If I am flying in in the daytime it is always the 2nd place we stop after Cracker Barrel. They sell Stromfoam coolers with free ice to keep the juice cold while I make my other pre Sanibel stops. We drink several gallons each trip.
Ugh The correct name is SunHarvest Citrus!
just noticed the Sunflower post. I have always had good service and food at Sunflower also. It has some Greek dishes on the menu. It is not fancy and seems to attract the Senior Citizen crowd. Not that that is a bad thing. I go at least once or twice a trip and have never had a bad meal or bad service.
Thanks everyone - I have driven the route so many times, but can%26#39;t recall anything but Sun Citrus and the outlet mall...
I appreciate it - I was hoping to get a good, healthy cheap lunch in the kids before the higher prices of Sanibel.
Sonic - I have never been to one. That sounds good, the commercials are so entertaining.
( nice to see you PTQ!)
