I%26#39;ve always reviewed this forum before any of the trips we%26#39;ve taken and in almost every scenario I found the resorts to be a bit better than posted and as the eternal optimist, thought to each their own. BUT, let me forewarn you about the Eden Roc in Miami Beach. This hotel%26#39;s service is horrific. Unfriendly, unhelpful, and frankly they don%26#39;t follow through. This occurs at the pool, with the concierge, and the entire crew I encountered. The pools were disgusting - and in the 6 days we were there - not cleaned once. There was trash surrounding each pool, and it appears the pool furniture is rarely (if ever) cleaned. We trotted down the boardwalk to the Fountain Bleu and instantly regretted where we stayed. Impeccable service and beautiful resort. I will say this - the rooms are very nice. Small, but clean and updated with beautiful views.
Here%26#39;s my million dollar advice before booking at ANY hotel in Miami. Find out what conventions they are holding at the resort before booking. We were part of a large conference, but I pity those poor souls that had to share the resort with us. We took over the entire hotel in the evenings with parties and banquets. Pools were shut down because of us. In one sense - lucky us, but on the other side, I%26#39;d sure be disappointed if I had paid their price to stay I would have left the first night.
I know there are others that will probably throw a fit at my comments, so please keep in mind - this is merely an opinion. My opinion. Which I hope might be helpful to those when looking at the choices they have in Miami.
