Well here it is folks - I promised I would try Zeno%26#39;s before leaving Daytona - so last night we drove down to Zeno%26#39;s on A1A - wow
I had the butter pecan and my husband had the death by chocolate - .......and......IMO....Cow Licks wins - hands down
Some differences:
1. Zeno%26#39;s is cheaper - however the portions are smaller - which is good especially after popcorn at the movies!!
2. Zeno%26#39;s has a half and half which Cow Licks doesn%26#39;t offer - but CL will do half and half if you ask
3. Cow Lick%26#39;s ice cream is creamier and has more taste - more flavour
4. cow Lick%26#39;s decor is better and cleaner.
So - while we would absolutely go back to Zeno%26#39;s - Cow Licks is our preferred favourite!
Tomorrow we pack our bags and leave early Tuesday morning - and will be back next January - already counting the days - hard to leave this great beach town!
cow licks/vs zeno's - ice cream review
We tried cow licks, didn%26#39;t like it much, is Zeno%26#39;s hands down for us. Many do like cow licks tho and we are all different, that is what makes the world go around:) Have a safe trip home.

cow licks/vs zeno's - ice cream review
Hi Punz
Don%26#39;t get me wrong - we liked Zeno%26#39;s - glad we tried it and will go back again - we just liked CL%26#39;s a bit better - but your right - that%26#39;s what makes the world go round - us all being a bit different and yet the same!
Well one thing is pretty clear, we all like Daytona Beach and ice cream LOL

Cowlicks is very good, not sure if we have tried Zeno%26#39;s. We really like Ritter%26#39;s better than any. It is of course custard which is really rich. A bit farther away from the beach though.
Is Ritter on Nova %26amp; Big Tree??The round blue place ??
Renata
I believe it may be, it is over on the mainland and it is a round building with outdoor seating. They have several types of sundaes and other treats.
O.K. I am going to throw a wrench in ya%26#39;lls ice cream debate! It%26#39;s called Flamingos, 559 N. Beach St. Coming off the Main St. bridge , right at the second light (that is actually N. Main, the first light is Ballough)it is about 2 blocks down on the right. The area is a little funky but safe, mostly car repair shops and warehouses. Anyway this place has been there for about 60 years and they make the ice cream on site. It is, hands down, the best ice cream around. They also do old fashion fountain drinks(try the cherry vanilla coke)and even offer you free refills to go. Also respectable sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and try it.
Willing to try Flamingo%26#39;s - unfortunately it will have to wait till we return next January.
Had a good trip home - rain from Daytona to Buffalo - and sunny once we crossed the border - no snowstorms! Weather here is good - snow is melting fast!
Have a good summer and fall - I think I left part of my heart in Daytona - will be happy to go back!
Susan
Glad you made it home to NY safely.
Thanks dave, will look for Flamingos!
