Now that we%26#39;re in the midst of cutting-edge comunication technology, i.e, e-mail, instant messaging, and mobile phones, has the comparitive tedius job of searching for, writing, and then sending postcards ( in the hope that they beat you home!!), becoming a dying trend?
Does anyone send postcards anymore, or are they tres passe??
Postcards?Good question woofer73.
I buy 1 at Walmart to send to my sister, I would get hell if I didn%26#39;t!!!
Tell you what I always buy though - a fridge magnet - how sad am I!!!
Postcards?Hi, I always send postcards, and yes I usually beat them back. But I tend to send them to children in the family and friends children and they just love getting them in the post, so I am yes one of those sad people you will see sitting by the pool writing post cards.
I may even send myself one to remind me of what a wonderful trip I had, it will arrive a few days after I do, but hey ho it may chear me up. As I will be depressed to be home.
I buy postcards just for the nice pictures mainly but I have to send one to my mum!
Disney postcards don%26#39;t seem to have changed in years! There%26#39;s the iconic shot of the castle in the Florida sunshine - I%26#39;ve received that one several times and also sent it to friends and family. There are also the books of postcards from each of the Disney parks but otherwise, the choice is limited. Isn%26#39;t it time Disney updated or extended the selection?
I do, normally to relatives, and the kids like to send them to school. we brought some last year and had trouble finding a post box, ended up posting them in typhoon lagoon, they arrived home two days before we did, we had some stamps left over and some time at the airport so the kids sent them selves one, got to us a few days later.
However we do send the email postcards from epcot just to be ';modern';.
I have a friend who prints out the labels of the people and their addresses, to send postcards. She has been known to bring them home %26amp; post them here though as she got fed up of people never receiving them.
I didn%26#39;t send postcards last year. It was the 1st time, and was so liberating. So I won%26#39;t bother from now on.
Last year I also cut down on the presents for people and just brought some back for the children in the family.
woffer73,
I am far more likely to compile a CD of my pictures and send those to family and friends than I am to buy and send a post card.
I will, however, buy the professional CD%26#39;s to keep because the photography in those includes pictures I could never get.
