snorkelling/kayaking

We are travelling to key west and would like to take a kayking/snorkelling tour that lasts around 3 to 4 hours, since we are on a tight schedule. Is this available? If yes, where can we book this?

snorkelling/kayaking

My favorite trip out there is with Danger Charters. They take you on a sailboat to the backcountry, then you can kayak/snorkel. Lunch and snack are provided. Have fun, bring the camera and towels!

The half day on Danger would be just right, but I don%26#39;t believe they serve lunch on it. Their all-day trip, and the Sebago Island T%26#39;Ing one, go from 10:00 to 4:00 and include breakfast and lunch as well as the snorkel and kayak trip. Both are a lot of fun.

Although I have never been, my sister highly recommends Danger, and I plan to rectify my past oversights on our trip in June. She tells me that they did an awesome job!!

We did a half-day trip on Danger Charters last June. Snacks and beverages were provided, but not a full lunch. It turned out to be one of our most fun activities. We%26#39;ll be taking a full day trip this June.

and how was snorkeling compared to other caribbean islands? did you see alot of fish?

This, too, depends on what%26#39;s out at the reef or where ever else you are taken. My favorite places are Sand Key, Cotrell Key and One Tree (or One Pine) Key. I%26#39;ve been out to these and seen almost nothing of interest. But on other occassions I%26#39;ve snorkeled with a school of rays or a school of smaller, parrot fish that seem to number in the hundreds. I%26#39;ve seen nurse sharks and lobsters, irredescent blue fish and grouper which I invited for dinner. It can be bad but it can be very good.

Just did the full day trip with Danger Charters, but there is also a half day trip. It was the best part of our vacation! Definitely look into it! :)

You will see lots of fish out on the reef. The reef it self is not in great shape but the fish are great.

If you have been to Bonaire or Cozumel you will see that that the reef is nothing like these places but there are more fish here.

If it%26#39;s fish you want to see you will have a great time on the reef in Key West.

Our snorkeling in nowhere as good as the carribean. You will likely see many fish and have fun, but do not expect anything on a par with places like Saint John, or Belize or other destinations that have healthy reef systems.

Kayaking is great here. IMO it is better then many other places due to all the shallow waters and small islands and clear waters in the Gulf.

The keys are too popular for our own good in terms of healthy reefs. Thousands of tourists, boats, cruise ships, etc.... do not mix well with reef systems, especially some of the inexperienced people we get who anchor on coral and have damaged the reefs. Be sure to not touch anything and make sure your flippers to not touch anything either. Any reputable tour will explain the rules to you. I also recommend Danger Charters. They have a great reputation.

What if you only want to kayak for an hour or two? I don%26#39;t think my guy would want to spend a half a day in a kayak! Any suggestions?
