key west overnight trip

We are visiting Key West for an overnight trip from Miami and shall arrive at around 11am and leave the next day at around 4.30.

Would this be too tight to do,

if we take the trolley tour on the first day stopping to visit southernmost point, southermost beach, smathers beach and fort zachary taylor;

mallory square and duval street early evening till late;

5 hour snorkelling and kayaking tour the second day.

Is this possible or a tight itinerary? (I am thinking the first day is a bit impossible, isn%26#39;t it?)

You are arriving a bit late for the Trolley. I think they finish up right abound 5pm. It is a tight itinerary but you could certainly do the snorkel trip on the second day.

You could make it work, but I think I would drop a couple of those beach stops and just pick one beach to visit.

Why not try to make a long weekend out of it? Key West isn%26#39;t the type of place to try and rush things... There is just so much to see and do.. Would hate for you to feel rushed.

As for the current itinerary... the second day may be a bit rought... going out snorkelling and kayaking.. being out in the sun and all may really drain you. To have to drive 4 or so hours back might really be a drain.

All up to what you like of course though. I%26#39;m really laid back on vacations and hate to rush anything.. So this is all from my POV so to speak.

To much to do and to little time to do it!!!

When you get there go over to Ft.Zack and do a little beach time, it%26#39;s the nicest on the island.

Hit the Southernmots point on the way to Mallory Square. After Mallory Square head down Duval. You will need to eat so when you get to Green St. make a left and try the Conch Republic Seafood Co.

After dinner go over to the SWB and listen to good music and have a few drinks. Stay out and party until you drop.

You have pleanty of time for your snorkel trip.

This is the story of my life when we go to Key West -- no matter how long we stay. I used to have these great ideas about what we%26#39;d do when we got there. Then, of course, we%26#39;d arrive and all the plans would all go out the window. And I wouldn%26#39;t have it any other way! ;)

Are you doing the beach in Miami? If so, I%26#39;d skip it in Key West. I%26#39;d also suggest not to plan anything for day 2, just go explore what ever catches your fancy during the trolley tour or places you%26#39;ve read about here.
