Usually to get the dining plan you have to buy a package that includes room, tickets (I think!) and the dining plan. DVC members staying on points don%26#39;t have to buy the package, they can get the Dining Plan as an add on to their reservation. Member services will set it up for you and you pay on arrival.

We rented points from a member in January and that was how it worked.

oh, ok. thank you for the information. that is good know... we also went to WDW last January and availed the Dining Plan and found it a great deal.
