HI Family Suites - Booked a suite, confused about reviews...

I have 4 kids, ages 1-10. My husband found this NICK hotel, and at first I was excited about all the FUN activities %26amp; characters at this hotel. But after reading the tripadvisor reviews I am very worried about the quality/cleanliness of the Holiday Inn. 20 million dollar renovation, but is it worth it? Will we be happy here?? Please advise either way. I have also thought about Vistana Villas at LBV?? Thanks!!

Hi! We have stayed there twice in the past 3 years and loved it. The free breakfast is great. Nothing special, but it helps when you have kids, and you don%26#39;t have to cook yourself. The rooms are a little small, but you have a place of your own (parents) and the kids have their own bedroom. The fridge is a little small and it only has one bathroom so be prepared for that. We are actually thinking about staying at the Vistana Villages this year though. They have a washer and dryer, and that will help. Plus, they have full kitchen opposed to mini kitchenette. But, all in all we will probably go back to Nick Hotel just to check it out since the renovations. The staff was great there and it is very kid friendly. We were there when it was just Holiday Inn Family Suites Resort. Hope this helps.

I have stayed here three times with my husband and 2 children and had a great time. I also saw the recent reviews. It seems to be a problem that this 800 all-suite hotel has tried to stay fully operational while doing a major renovation. There have been a lot of complaints, for example all the things usually in the huge hotel lobby are now stuck in little suites,, eg, game room, face painting, etc. Also, I heard from the desk that construction was only going to take place on the unoccupied side of the resort, but someone posted and said that wasn%26#39;t true, that she had people hammering and sawing over her head at 8 am. I don%26#39;t know about the cleanliness problem, it was always extremely clean when we stayed there in the past. The only thing I can think of is maybe there is confusion about duties during the construction and also maybe they don%26#39;t have as many maids during construction as some of the rooms are closed???

This place is more cost effective for your family size, though. The rates include free breakfast buffet (grits, powdered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes/french toast, bagels, muffins, cold cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc)for the entire family every day and kids eat free with a dining adult in the restaurant or food court (Burger King, Pizza Hut) during the day and also eat free in the restaurant at night with a dining adult. You will save a lot of money this way, particularly if you got a good rate on your room. It also beats having to haul 4 kids out of the hotel for every meal. You also can%26#39;t beat the location, it is less (way less) than a mile from the Main Gate of WDW, as a matter of fact, it is the closest hotel to the main gate. You start driving down World Drive, which borders the hotel, and after about 1/8 mile you are driving through the ';Welcome to WDW'; gate. You couldn%26#39;t be any closer!

If you want to stay there and are concerned about cleanliness, call them up just before you leave home and tell the manager on duty that you have booked a room but saw a rotten review of the cleanliness and let him know that you want a clean, quiet room, that you are traveling quite a distance and will not be pleased if you arrive and find something substandard. Ask the manager to block out a really good room for you so you can arrive with peace of mind. Tell him you want the best housekeeper he%26#39;s got.

Good luck!
