RIPLEY’S SHADOWS IN THE DARK ANNIVERSARY BASH
At the stroke of midnight on Friday, the internationally-known internet radio show Shadows in the Dark with host Jeremiah Greer will launch its 24-hour anniversary celebration with a live radio broadcast from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in St. Augustine. The broadcast and fun continues until midnight on Saturday. During that time, entertainment in Ripley’s sculpture garden will include illusionists, escape artists, drum circles, a Master of the Weird, Historian of the Strange and three Swamp Apes! EPIC CELEBRATION OF SPRING – FLOWER %26amp; GARDEN EXPO
Celebrate the arrival of spring in the Nation’s Oldest City with two days of flowers, friends and fun. Growers, educational seminars, nurseries and artisans from around the state offer gardeners everything they need to make spring bloom at this popular Flower and Garden Expo. The St. Augustine Piece Makers Guild will host the “Nature’s Potpourri of Quilts” and the St. Augustine Garden Club’s Flower and Horticulture Show “Shop ‘till You Drop” will be featured. It all takes place Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Johns County Agricultural Center. SPRING ART %26amp; CRAFT FESTIVAL

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Help support environmental citizenship by participating in this annual event that works toward a healthy planet. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days there will be live entrainment, arts and crafts, living history demonstrations, environmental and cultural booths, nature programs, live animals, a large children’s environmental activity center, and a visit from Smokey Bear. GTM TRAIL WALK AT GUANA
Experience a fun and educational stroll through the uplands trails located within the GTM Research Reserve located at 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach.. The walk will cover approximately one and one-half miles round trip. Bring water, bug spray, and wear closed toe shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Guana Dam trailhead pavilion. The walk begins at 9 a.m. Admission to the Reserve is $3 per vehicle, (annual GTM pass holders FREE.) Space is limited. BARTRAM BASH AT ALPINE GROVES PARK
Bring the whole family to commemorate Earth Day and William Bartram’s Birthday at the 5th Annual Bartram Bash Celebration! The Bartram Bash will celebrate birds, butterflies, the history of William Bartram and the history of Alpine Groves Park. 3rd Annual Sea Turtle Homecoming Festival
Come celebrate the return of the sea turtles for the 2009 nesting season! GREAT AMERICAN LIGHTHOUSE ART SHOW
Meet one of the top lighthouse artists in the country during the St. Augustine Lighthouse art show and sale. See over 100 classic, custom and antique automobiles as they compete for trophies atNocatee Community Park. There will be plenty of food, lively music and vintage autos on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Judges, including Dan Scanlan of the Florida Times Union, will determine the winners in categories ranging from ‘Best in Show’ to ‘Longest Distance Traveled to Show’. MENORCAN DAY TEA
Learn more about unique Menorcan customs while enjoying a traditional Menorcan tea. The tea is hosted by three natives who can trace their heritage back through nearly 445 years of St. Augustine history and into antiquity in Spain. These heritage natives portray the city’s Spanish Royal Family – Queen Maria Anna, her son King Carlos, and her daughter Princess Margarita Maria – the royal family of Spain during the construction of the city’s Castillo de San Marcos. That Vilano Market is just starting this weekend -should be good for that area to get something like this to promote the area. I think it will do well!
