After reading reviews, I can%26#39;t decide if I made the right decision to stay at Tranquilty Bay for 5 nights. Has anyone stayed at both resorts? Is one nicer than the other? I would want to stay in a two bedroom villa at either resort. Any advice regarding this will be most appreciated. Thanks!
Tranquilty Bay or Hawks Cay?
nerdgurl, you can%26#39;t go wrong at either place. Both are fantastic properties. Hawks Cay does have the dolphins right on property, that is a plus for them. Tranquility Bay is in the heart of Marathon, close to everything, so that is a plus for them.
Just come on down and have some fun!

Our family has stayed at both resorts..Tranquility Bay in August 2008,and Hawks Cay February 2009.We loved both,although they are very different from each other.Tranquility Bay is definitely more quiet,has a nice pool area and mini golf.It has beautiful grounds.The villa is very similar to that at Hawks Cay. Hawks Cay has way more to do right on site,and we also liked the location of our villa at HC because it was right on the water,and our villa was around the pool at TB.Our villa was cleaner at TB, and we loved the Butterfly Cafe there as well (expensive,but great food).Both resorts are very nice,but we loved having everything on site at HC the best.My children (ages 10 and 11) were able to make many more friends at HC and do activities on their own. We swam with the dolphins,went on a fishing charter,kids did Indies club every day,and walked along the docks often at HC.But, we loved that TB was closer to Bahia Honda,where we swam every day in hot August. If I were to go back, I think we would spend maybe 5 days at each resort for quiet one half,and activities the rest. Enjoy your vacation!!
I haven%26#39;t stayed at either, but I did notice a special at Hawks Cay on travelzoo%26#39;s top 20 today. You may want to check it out since it only lasts a week.
