hey all..

does anyone know if anything has replaced Wax on Applerouth? it was a tiny club off Duval that became another bar but was closed last year. any idea if its been reopened as something new?

I just read something the other day about it. It%26#39;s a new place for ';like minded'; people it said. They said there was not going to be any on site hanky panky but more of a place for people to possibly hook up and then go on their merry way.

did you read this in a local mag/paper? or some place online.. wax was a blast when we went.. i%26#39;m sure nothing will replace the time we spent there, but i%26#39;ll cross my fingers.

thanks for the link.. to each is own, but swingers we%26#39;re not.. i gotta laugh.. the last time we were there we danced our asses off with a barefoot hippy in overalls who puked in a barrel and rallied, a harley driving stiletto heeled man and a dude with an anchor tattooed on his nose.

i just want to dance!! and not at Ricks Cafe.. we end up there by default, but I need something else!! you two seem to have the answers, where can i go dance hard?? straight, gay, whatever.. dancing is the goal.. we loathe the tourist traps.. we%26#39;re hippies that like to dance.. help a sister out!

definitely plan on hitting the parrot.. theres a band called Iko Iko playing 3 nights at the Parrot so I%26#39;ll have to check them out.

I saw this older thread and I wanted some more info. My wife and I were big fans of Wax as well, but we%26#39;re a little weary of the new establishment. Has anyone been to Club Zu and have an opinion about the music and scene?

What about Aqua? Gay bar, but probably good dance music going on there at night? If bands will work there is always Hogs Breath, Sloppys, Parrot and many more... I guess it depends on the type of music.. but since you said defaulted at Ricks, i%26#39;m assuming younger music.

I would agree that a good younger club would be something worthwhile in Key West. I%26#39;m only 31 and I%26#39;ve always stayed away from Ricks.. Just seemed skeezy and now with the molestation security checks, no thanks!

Zu gets rolling around midnight. There%26#39;s the ';front'; of Zu, and a back bar which I believe is members only. When we were there in Feb it was really rocking. Trust me, you don%26#39;t just walk in and get automatically paired up with a stranger or anything!
