Shuttle From Tampa Airport to Anna Maria

Is there any shuttle service, etc. that we could take from Anna Maria to the airport, and airport to Anna Maria. We are flying into Tampa and renting a car, our son is coming separate a couple of days later and leaving early. We really don%26#39;t want to drive back and forth to the airport. Any suggestions? I know he could take a taxi, but not sure that will be cost effective. I love this board. ( :

Is he old enough to rent a car? If so, let him do a one-way rental to Sarasota airport where you can then pick him up. And the reverse when he has to leave.

How far is the Sarasota Airport from Anna Maria?

It%26#39;s about 15 miles from Sarasota/Bradenton airport to where Hwy 64 ends on AMI.

I believe there is a shuttle from TPA to Manatee memorial Hospital area. Not sure of any details, but have seen the shuttle in the area. Maybe check with TPA, see what they have. This would be best bet, as manatee memorial is at Rt. 64 downtown in Bradenton, just a few miles form the island.

You could pick him up, but just make a fun day-trip out of it. You could stop by the John%26#39;s Pass area on the way to or from the airport to break up the monotony of the trip. John%26#39;s Pass (www.johnspass.com) is an area north of St. Pete%26#39;s Beach that is full of shops and restaurants that is worthy of consideration of something to do if you are looking to get off the island for something different.

am curious as to what you did for a ride from airport to anna maria island. am coming into st petes (PIE) and wanting to travel to perico bay, bradenton area...

looking for ideas and transportation that is not priced too high. any others have info, would love to be informed.

No, we didn%26#39;t get a shuttle, or find any other information. We arranged for my son to travel with us, and just rented the one car.

I know that is to late for the shuttle, for you Shaktitourist, but I have looked several times at the web-site for ';Shuttle Service AMI';. Seems like that could be a solution when coming into Tampa. Everthing looks pretty good on their site. This summer some of our adult kids will be coming and going at different times. Sure would be nice to find something like this, and not have to make all those trips back and forth.

Has anyone used them?
