What is the Cheapest way from the Airport to Cruise Seaport...

Can someone tell me the cheapest way from Fort Lauderdale airport to the Royal Carribean dock. I am sailing on the Enchanment of the Seas in May. In addition, I would like to know the approximate cab far. Thanks

How many in your party? The Cruiseport is not very far from the airport and if there are two or more of you taxi would probably be cheapest as the Shuttle charges per person no matter how many you have in your party and the taxi is a flat fare that is shared by the occupants. You might look at Cruisecritic.com for some advice from recent travelers. I%26#39;m thinking cab fare would be about $20- but that%26#39;s just a guess on my part.

I think I%26#39;m going to revise my estimate downward slightly to about $15- I think it would be $20 to the Marriott Harbor Beach which is slightly further from the Airport. They do have some shared ride shuttles from the Airport to Port Everglades and I think they are about $10 per person. It seems to be that it would be so much more comfortable for you ( especially if you are part of a pair) to jump in a taxi when you get there rather than having to wait around a bit for a shuttle to fill and then of course having to deal with dropping off others and sorting out luggage. You can see what you get from asking on Cruise Critic, but it really won%26#39;t be a major expenditure in any case. Now, if your cruise was leaving from Port of Miami that would be an entirely different story. I know Enchantment leaves from Port Everglades because I cruised on it a few years ago (2002). very nice ship, good service- I really loved the ice cream cones served every afternoon ! Have a great trip!

Is it still going to St. Maarten , St. Thomas and Nassau or are you going elsewhere?

Thanks for the help. I looked on Cruise Critic and someone posted it was a 10 dollar taxi ride. If it is fifteen dollars as you think, it is still worth taking. I am doing the western carribean cruise that includes Key West and Cozumel. I was first booked to take the Majesty of the Seas out of Miami but changes my mind and switched to the Enchantment of the Seas because it looked like a nicer ship.

I am sure that a taxi is the cheapest and most efficient way to get to the cruise dock. You will not have to wait for other people to fill a shuttle or bus up. The cab driver will load your luggage and take you directly to %26#39;your%26#39; ship where they will unload your luggage. Give them everything you would like the ship stewards to take to your room. You can keep your purse and a carryon if it has a computer or valuables in it that you need to keep close to you. Ships usually start allowing passengers aboard around noon. The cabs usually cost around $12-$15.00 plus your tip ($1.00 for each bag they handle also- the same for the ship steward). Have a GREAT cruise.

Cruiser- did you notice the question you answered was posted back in 2006? I%26#39;m sure the person has come and gone on his cruise by now- I wonder how you even found it to answer! This has been a spooky night for old posts- maybe we are going back to the future!

I%26#39;ll bet the original poster had a great cruise- I sailed on Enchantment sometime around that time and loved that ship!
