Best Margaritas???

OK, although I read the KW forum daily, I am a 1st time poster. I will be leaving for KW on Sunday. It%26#39;s been many, many years since I last visited (back in %26#39;88) so I am pretty psyched about a long overdue return.

My question... Where can I get a REALLY good margarita? You know the one I%26#39;m talking about. Not that powder mix cheap booze one served in a paper cup. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

When I want a margerita I go to Kellys on the corner of Whitehead and Caroline. During happy hour, 4:00 - 7:00 they are $3.50.

Try Mangoes, La Te Da, White Tarpon, The Tree Bar and Schooner Wharf.

I second Kelly%26#39;s and White Tarpon. Kelly%26#39;s gets a lot of grief here, but I like their margs. especially when they are at a discount. You can drink twice as many. : )

Also, at White Tarpon, try a Key Lime martini.

The funny thing is that Kelly%26#39;s is definately a later afternoon stop, 4:30ish, and the White Tarpon is a later night stop, 9:30ish (which is latish for me). You can start at one and work your way to the other.

Kelly%26#39;s margaritas are pre-made and come out of a big machine (not unlike many others in KW). They%26#39;re kind of sickening sweet in my opinion. I prefer anything from the White Tarpon!!

We like Kelly%26#39;s on the rocks and in a Glass, refreshing. If is really hot Red Fish Blue fish has frozen Margs, great for a roady.

All this talk is getting me excited.

Yes, they are included in Kelly%26#39;s happy hour special. We love them on the rocks there too! So ready for some happy hour drinks right now :) Can%26#39;t wait for May!!

I think the best *place* to have a margerita is at the Tiki bar at the sunset pier at the Ocean Key Resort, 0 Duval Street. You can buy one then take it out on the pier and usually listen to the music and watch the sunset-sailors coming in. But only if it%26#39;s made by KWAL.
