The public transportation in Naples is very minimal and taxi%26#39;s are expensive so a car rental is really the best way to go.
As for waht to do I would definitely catch a sunset which is easy since you are staying on the beach.

If you are in Naples on a Thursday and like latin or Tango dancing, BICE Italian Restaurant has ';Una Noche de Tango'; (Italian for A Night of Tango). From 8-11 pm they have Argentinian Tango dancers and they also offer lessons.

Also, the first Sunday in May, if you are still in Naples, will be the taste of Collier at Bayfront on Fifth and Goodlette. All the restarants from Naples set up booths and you can sample the foods.
