We will be in Florida the last week of May and will ';do'; the everglades. We arrive Sat evening and want to drive to EC to spend the night to be ready for a tour (Kayak or Airboat) on Sunday. Are tours offered on Sundays as well? Should we reserve a tour already from Europe or is it better to look for an operator when we%26#39;re there? I%26#39;ve seen internet prices of $119 for 3 hours boat trip; Is this a normal price? Thanx in advance for your advice since we can still adapt all our plans!
Some General Information Please
Since May is the start of the rainy season visitors are much fewer so I reckon you would do just as well booking when you are there since the price you mention does seem rather high.
Mind you I have only done trips lasting around 1 hour but these have generally cost around $25 so am not really sure of normal price for longer. All depends on what you get for it.
Try contacting the chamber of commerce www.evergladeschamber.net where you will find some local listings and lots of other info on the area.
Be sure you have plenty of insect (mosquito) repellant for you trip.
Lastly I think you would enjoy kayaking much more than airboating. Airboats are a fun thing (do a 1 hour trip) to do but scare everything away
