Just back from the new PCB--Wow!

My parents and I just returned from a quick weekend trip to Panama City Beach. We have not been to the area for 2 years and the primary reason for our visit was to look at real estate.

Let me just say, WOW, was impressed!! Pier Park is amazing and was really doing a business when we went Saturday night for dinner. We were concerned as we were travelling during a week of spring break but were happy to see along with the spring breakers areas like Pier Park and our condo were mostly filled with families and mature couples.

Don%26#39;t get me wrong we saw a lot of spring breakers but nothing like I remember from the late 90s when I was there on my spring break.

I cannot say enough about how great the new PCB looks! They have managed to develop wonderful areas like Pier Park while still having areas mingled around with the old barefoot and laid back PCB feel.

Thrilled with what we saw!

Just back from the new PCB--Wow!

Great to hear that! We are going to be there for Easter and it will be our first time in many years. We%26#39;re anxious to see how things have changed.... for the better! Where did you stay/eat/visit?

Just back from the new PCB--Wow!

Stayed at Emerald Beach, we really liked it! One of our favorite touches is there skybar overlooking the street. We sat up there and had a glass of wine and watched the cars drive under us...really fun. Also, because it is partnered with Wyndam they have a ton of activities..the night we were there they were having trivia night, we didn%26#39;t play but those whe were playing looked like they were having alot of fun. By far my favorite thing about the resort was Starbucks on site!!!

We ate dinner at Back Porch Seafood and breakfast at Baja, both located in Pier Park. Both get a definie thunbs up. I had the Florentine Grouper at Back Porch-loved it!! It was a bit rich but I like that. My mom had the blackened chicken Alfredo she said it was a little too spicy for her, my dad tasted hers and really liked it, so I guess its all in your taste buds. One last note - they have really good ranch dressing.

Baja was excellent for breakfast. Inexpensive nice dining with a really good selection. Their traditional bkfst is 5 dollars and comes with 2 eggs prepared how you order, potatoes or grits, toast or biscuits, and bacon or sausage. Coffee was good but not as good as starbucks:-)

Shopping at Pier Park is WONDERFUL!!!! Tons of selections! I was really amazed.

We are going back in a month for a longer trip and are going to go back to some of our former hangouts Sharky%26#39;s, Pompanos, Boathouse. This trip was to see the new stuff.

Very cool! We are staying at Celadon with our two little kids and another family. We%26#39;re going to try going to dinner someplace one night but with two kids it%26#39;s hard to sit in restaurants. Can you recommend a gulf-side seafood place? We%26#39;re also looking for a place for Easter brunch. We%26#39;ve been told that Schooners might have something for Easter, but that%26#39;s on the far east end and we want something closer. I%26#39;m so glad you had a nice time. Sounds like you got to experience a lot!

Two kids at restaurants...I have a 5 month old and a 3yr old little boy who refuses to sit still so I UNDERSTAND! I wish I could help more with recommendations but I am not sure until my next visit for the best place with the kids. When did you say u are going? We are going to try and make another trip in April with the kids so I would be happy to send you a message regarding my recommendations.

No matter what though, PCB in the summer has TONS of families with kids so no matter where you go you will be surrounded by friends:-) We are all in the same boat.

Pier Park is very family friendly and as you probably know Celedon is close to Pier Park.

Never mind I missed the easter reference...you will beat us there...maybe you can recommendsomewhere for me:-)

Sorry I don%26#39;t know of anywhere with a good brunch.

Try Another broken egg for brunch.Look up their menu at Anotherbrokenegg.com.There is one in Panama city and Destin.Have heard great things about it on the destin board.I wanted to try it myself last summer but did not get around to it.Enjoy your trip!!
