Cheap hotel to catch key west express

Hello All,

I will be traveling from Tampa to Fort Myers Beach to catch the ferry to the keys. Since you have to be there so early I was thinking about getting a room the night before. Any suggestions? I am not real familiar with the area.

Country Inn %26amp; Suites Sanibel Gateway is nice and it%26#39;s close. There isn%26#39;t anything in walking distance really, but there are some outlet shops right nearby and also a shopping plaza with a grocery store just right across the main road. It would take about 10 minutes to get to the ferry.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Bell Tower has tons of stuff within walking distance since it is hooked to a mall. There is a movie theater and a bunch of eateries. It would take about 20 minutes to get the ferry but an easy drive.

You can bring coffee and a breakfast onto the ferry, or you can buy things on the ferry to eat. They take only cash on the ferry. The bar opens when you board, too.

The closest off-island hotel to the Key West Express is Hampton Inn at Summerlin Road. www.hamptoninn.com The beach zip code is 33931 if you need that to look it up. Don%26#39;t know if it falls into the ';cheap'; category. At that time of the morning it will take less than 10 minutes to get to the dock.

When you have the price for Hampton, check pricing here on the beach. Silver Sands Villas, Mango Street Inn, The Beacon and others frequently mentioned here may match the rate and give you more options for dining/entertainment the night before you leave.
