Restaurant-fun for kids after long plane ride

We are coming in to FLL in April at 6:00pm (will be only 4:00 our time) and taking a cab to Fort Lauderdale Grande. Is there somewhere we can get a nice fairly inexpensive place to eat with 3 kids 11, 10 and 6? My kids will have sat all day on a plane so I want a place they can relax and not have to sit still. I was thinking of Bubba Gumps?? (we are from Montana, the only chain restaurant we have is Chilis and Mcdonalds) Also, what is the best way to get there? We can take a water taxi, but with five it seems kinda expensive vs. a regular cab. We%26#39;d be happy to walk somewhere if it is through a safe neighborhood.(I%26#39;m sure a walk would do them wonders) Thanks for all your help!!

What day of the week in April? On weekends only ( unless there is a convention here when extra days may be added, the little red and yellow Sun Trolley will pick up anywhere across the street from your hotel along 17th St(you just wave hem down.. Otherwise, the #40 city bus will as well but you%26#39;ll need to be at a marked bus stop- look for bus benches across from the Grande on 17th St.. Fare is $1.25 for adults- I%26#39;ll check the kid fare when I ride later today.

Bubba%26#39;s would be nice with an Ocean view or the waterfront bar/grill of Bahia Cabana Days Inn has some glider swing seating and boats coming and going. Your bus driver can make sure you don%26#39;t miss whichever you choose.

Okay, just booked a rental car with the budget code someone posted earlier. Thanks a billion. The code GREATLY reduced the price. So, we may have a car. We are staying on a Thursday before Easter. I don%26#39;t think the trolley is running then.

Did you check to see what parking costs at the Grande? I think it will be about $20/day- so if you are budgetting that may make a difference. Fare for city bus, which will definitely be running is Adults 1.25, Youth over 40'; 60 cents, kids shorter than that free.

Most beach area parking is at least $1/hr $10 all day from what I remember.

I know the parking rates are so high! I found a budget online that looks like it is only a few blocks from there on 17th. Does anyone know if it is as close as it seems and is this in an okay neighborhood to walk with kids?

Neighborhood is just fine and that Budget office is a little storefront place just west of your hotel in a complex called the Quay , where the Rennaissance Hotel and the Bimini Boatyard Restaurant are located. It will be easy as pie to walk to!

It is just a small storefront location, so you might want to go back on budget.com and double check the times it is open- not sure how late etc.
