4 days in Orlando in July - where to visit & where to stay?

Hi to all,

we will be in Orlando for 4 days in July (kids are 16yrs and 11 yrs). We would like to see and do as many things as possible so we were thinking Disney World for a couple of days, Sea World and Hollywood Studios (is this Universal studios??). Any other places you might recommend? For such a case, do you recommend a Disney Resort hotel or a hotel outside the parks in order to drive around? Another idea someone gave me was to stay at a hotel in Disney World and drive to Sea World for example, return, rest for a while and hit the parks again???

Any advise you can give me???

Andreas

First of all, Hollywood Studios is a Disney theme park, and the two Universal theme parks are totally separate (Universal Studios and ISlands of Adventure).

If your main park visits will be the Disney destinations, then it%26#39;s a definite advantage to stay on Disney property.

If you stay on Disney property, getting back and forth to and from the parks is pretty easy, but if you go off property like to SeaWorld, it will take a good amount of time to leave and come back again there, as SeaWorld is at least 5 or more miles from Disney.

From the sounds of your plans, it seems like you will have a vehicle, correct? Getting around is much easier with a rental car for sure.

In summary, here%26#39;s the main theme parks:

Disney parks include: MAgic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon water park and Blizzard BEach waterpark.

Universal parks include: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and Wet %26amp; Wild water park.

SEaWorld parks include: SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica water park.

Also, if you stay on WDW property, you can take advantage of the extra magic hours. In Feb, we were able to do Hollywood Studios (during the day) and then Magic Kingdom (that night) in one day because MK was open until 3am.

As far as resorts go, here is just some quick info on CSR.

CSR has newly renovated rooms (about half done as of 3/2009) and queen beds (only mod to offer them).

A terrific main pool area that includes a 123 ft slide (2nd largest at WDW), kiddie pool, arcade, playground, sand volleyball court, hot tub (largest on WDW property), a bar, and snack bar (very good food for CS).

Reliable transportation that is not shared with other resorts, 4 resort stops and quick rides to all the parks. CSR has the closest bus stops to the park entrances too (first stop at DHS and MK)!

Other amenities you may be looking for in a resort.

Only moderate to offer suites.

A spa, salon, tanning beds, a lap pool and fitness center (free to its guests).

Full menu room service, expensive though.

Central air, flat panel TV鈥檚 and WiFi available.

Rix Lounge 鈥?a dance club voted most trendy bar in Orlando.
