Fort Lauderdale Airport Sheraton Hotel.

Hi,

We will be spending 1 night at the Sheraton in April, prior to our cruise. I wonder if anyone who knows where this hotel is situated (Griffin Street) could give us some idea what is around it. For example, shops, restaurants and is it too far to walk to the Beach, even if its just to see the sun set? Thank you

Sorry to say there is nothing around it- it is built on the airport%26#39;s greenway, a parklike heavily landscaped area and it is across the street from a similar hotel, the Hilton. It is not an area where you can or should walk- you would have to taxi if you wanted to get anywhere. There are no nearby shops and restaurants except what is in the two hotels- I%26#39;d say typical hotel dining rooms and small cocktail lounges- to the west there is a major on/off ramp for the interstate. I think a atxi ride to the nearest beach area- probably at the east end of Sheridan St- would be about $15 each way- there are restaurants of some sort there- you probably could find out more specifics by posting on the Hollywood Florida Forum- these hotels are south of Ft. Lauderdale and closer to that town, I%26#39;d say.

Oh- and don%26#39;t forget , the sun will set in the west- not over the beach which is east.
