This is our first time to Fort Lauderdale. Can anyone tell me the MUST dos and sees near the Courtyard by the Marriott on Seabreeze BLVD? How far is Las Olas Boulvard from there? On the website it says it is adjacent so I am assuming it is within walking distance. Are there any MUSTS for restaurants or night life?
Any place to book snorkling or parasailing near by?
Thanks!

Las Olas Boulevard is immediately north of the Courtyard- just a few steps really- but unfortunately the touristy part of Las Olas is several blocks west- first you will have to walk or ride through a residential area before you come to the shops , galleries, restaurants and clubs. It may be walkable for some , but certainly not for everyone- especially in hot weather. If you don%26#39;t want to drive and pay to park, both a Sun Trolly ($2 I think and a city bus #112 (1.25) go across. I%26#39;ll google Courtyard to Mangos( about where the
Youy can book almost any water based activity at Bahia Mar Marina south of the Courtyard ,among other places- I%26#39;m sure your hotel will have scads of brochures

Courtyard to the tourist end of Las Olas is 1.8 miles or 35 min on foot- it%26#39;s a pretty and safe area, but may be too strenuous for some and does involve walking over the Las Olas Bridge- the closest thing we have to a hill here!
I take it you do plan ( or should) to get an all day Water Taxi pass ($13pp) for one day- you can catch Water Taxi near the Courtyard and ride across as there is a stop on Las Olas.
Sorry about that garbled middle post ( as some know I have a fractured wrist which makes keyboarding an adventure!). Courtyard to Mangoes restaurant would be a good judge of the walk- which I measured in the following post!
My husband and I dont mind the walk but we are going with friends so we have to take the trolley or bus or whatever. I am assuming the trolley and buses run into the late hours?
Is the Courtyard actually on the beach? Can we just walk outside and we are on teh beach?
Sorry about your wrist. :-(
Thanks for the help.
The Courtyard is across the street from the beach, although the entrance is actually on Seabreeze which is the street which runs parallel to the beach. You are in the thick of the action on the beach. I wouldn%26#39;t bother with the walk to the busy part of Las Olas it would be pretty boring (the walk that is) get the water taxi as has been suggested, much more scenic and fun.
What about a place for breakfast? I am not paying an arm and a leg at the hotel.
The best way to get to the hotel from the airport is a cab right?
I have not tried breakfast at any of these because I stay at the other end of the beach and walk to Primantis for breakfast most morning.

The Palm Grill at the Beach place serves breakfast too but for some reason I can%26#39;t get a link to the menu. Spazio does too but again I%26#39;m struggling to find a menu. Ditto for H2O they also have a coffee house in the same building which is open early but again I can%26#39;t get a link up. We have had a new firewall installed at work and I think certain things have been blocked.
Oh and last but not least St Barts

There are 2 St Barts on the beach one close to the Courtyard and one near where I stay, I have not tried the one near the Courtyard but the other is really good. The one near the Courtyard is the larger of the two.
